Zimmer forcing 1099’s to go w2?

So just had a manager tell me I am going W2 at the end of the year. Told him my team and our business will be going elsewhere then. Stryker and Smith and Nephew have contacted us as word is spreading fast that Zimmer is pissing off recon reps trying to force 1099’s to work direct. To all 1099’s, stand your ground or make that call to the competition as it’s looking bloody for end of year. Let the word spread to shareholders that Zimmer reps are lining up at the door to take their surgeons and business to other companies. Never thought Z would fall this far off the path, but here we are unfortunately. If you have those surgeon relationships some pretty good offers being thrown around, don’t be afraid to ask for a number from competition. Big Z needs to learn a lesson, a lesson shareholders will be pissed about.

1099’s run their own businesses. Not a single one only sells Zimmer products. Some 1099’s make more off other companies then Zimmer. Who’s gonna walk away from their own business, write offs, the way of life to switch to w2 and get PTO….. who’s gonna cover cases lol. It’s a joke. Anyone who switches to w2 have no ground to stand on. Zimmer gonna lose business over this. Guaranteed. They want full control of total joint reps.

If you really do work at Stryker as you claim, your performance is not driven by you and your W2 status but rather by the fact that you have competed with Mark Bezjak and his gang of fools for all of these years…..and I dont believe that you work there!

Stryker, the coke heads of the industry. I don’t know anyone who takes a Stryker rep serious. “I played football, I played baseball, I can count to three.” Typical Stryker reps. I don’t know one Stryker rep that doesn’t look 1 steroid away from a heart attack. No joke. As far as 1099’s going w2 at ZB, if you got a great bag to carry outside Zimmer tell them to go stuff sand in their throat. Zimmer is hearing lots of feedback about taking business elsewhere, shareholders don’t want to see our best reps flip to Stryker or smith nephew because Zimmer is clueless. Times almost up big Z. Back off or prepare shareholders for another tumble.

Just something to consider. In my state, our Distributor retired and ZB wanted to designate a GM as the successor to run a direct shop with the Reps as "1099s". All was going well until ZB Legal realized that our State's labor laws would disqualify any possibility of implementing 1099s. Long story short, ZB asserts too much control over Reps (requiring using Salesforce, monitoring attendance at webcasts, adhering to Code of Conduct, Compliance, etc.) to qualify them as true Independent Contractors. The legal penalties for improperly designating 1099 v W2 can be substantial and ZB wanted to avoid the risk. We wound up W2s. Just our local experience.

Management at Zimmer is the problem like this post above. They think their poop doesn’t stink and that the share price is the best it’s ever been. Everyone can see their disconnect from reality fortunately. Zimmer is falling apart in front of shareholders eyes, moral is lowest of all time in all divisions. Wild to see Z self destruct.
