Zimmer and Acumed

Was wondering how Zimmer Reps can sell Acumed when they are two separate companies that have conflicting lines? I would like to pick up Acumed as well and was wondering the best way to do it to keep it off my corporate's radar.

Thanks In Advance!!!

Zimmer Joints Only!!! Are you serious! Those guys in Cali are Selling Zimmer Joints, Zimmer Trauma (To Include Plates and Screws) and Acumed (To Include Plates and Screws)!! Talk about a conflict of interest. No wonder our industry is so heavily regulated as of late and also why Zimmer got the biggest fine in 2007. That is because they cannot follow the rules.

What rules? How do the feds regulate what independent business people sell as part of their business?

That's not a government/regulatory issue, and it's none of the government's business. That has nothing to do with any kind of oversight "rules", but it's simply a matter of whether a distributor's contract with the company permits him to carry other lines. Generally the contracts would not permit one to carry competing lines, but some of the distributors who have been around for a long time may either 1, have the leverage to tell Zimmer what they will and will not carry, or 2, be grandfathered into a contract that only requires them to sell the lines that Zimmer had available at the time the contracts were executed (Extremities is a relatively new product line for Zimmer). The zimmer distributors have all the power in the relationship for the most part.

Do you have proof that the guys in Cali are selling zimmer plates and screws that conflict with Acumed? They may just be selling the zimmer plates that Acumed doesn't have.....such as a tibial plateau plate, or anything pelvic, knee or hip?
