Wife and I are moving so I’m hunting for a new job. Browsing all the current openings in my soon to be home state.

I come across a cardio rep position from Amarin. Cool, I think. I have cardio experience.

I look at the requirements. 5+ years specialty/cardiology experience required PLUS established local cardiologist network.

Wow, I think. This must be a pretty complex drug. Or a med device. I googled Amarin. Hmmm Vascepa.. that makes sounds familiar. I google that.

Wait.. isn’t this that prescription fish oil..?

So let me get this straight. Y’all are selling the 20th to market drug for cardiovascular disease, it’s your ONLY product... and it’s FISH OIL.

And you expect to find 5+ year cardiology veterans with established relationships?

Does Amarin smoke crack? The only reps you should be hiding are Enterprise and copier sales. This is bottom tier entry level at best.

Wow.

Based on your usage of unnecessary ellipses, this would be the perfect job for your dumb ass.

this is a last resort job. The pay is way below industry avg.

As much as i dislike working for Amarin due to management trying to turn it into Sanofi.

if you have 5+ years of experience and look into the sience behind Vascepa and think its just another Omega 3 you are completely incorrect. Vascepa is a great product and a fun sales. You actually have to earn the sale. It’s an amazing product.

Maybe you should stick to AZ/lilly/novo and use your budget for coffee runs to maintain your “relationships” and have a product that sells itself.

I’m not sure why you choose to enter a company forum to be rude & disparaging on our medication that has excellent clinical outcomes. If the role is so “below” your standards, then simply don’t apply & keep forwarding that resume. I personally am thrilled to promote Vascepa. Is it perfect with managed care or how it’s marketed? No, but I’ve never promoted a medication that was. Take your over qualified tush down the road & good luck to you. Please never join Amarin. We don’t need your energy.

Then when they said 65k you jizzed in your panties!!! Lol! Personally thrilled??? You have extremely low expectations.... I dont work here anymore.... I used it as a stepping stone for much better oncology job... I did exercise my options but I retained the shares.... There never going to be worth what they sold u...

Exactly. This is how I felt when I got hired by Forest. Wow, $52k per year! That's like, a LOT of money!

Then go through my career and realize that they only hired Enterprise reps and paid bottom dollar. And that actual specialty reps make minimum $100k salary...

Congrats on your first pharma job, but don't act like its a real gig. This is the job you get so you have anything pharma on your resume so you can graduate to a real job.
