You had your chance Zimmer...

With all the lawsuits, DPA, Feds, etc. you had the chance in S. FLorida with a new distributor to turn the corner, put on a fresh face and show that you are willing to change. Instead, you took the easy path and hired a slimy vet of the industry and are willing to let him pickup where the rest of the company left off. Yep, instead of giving a fresh face a chance to put new, modern ethical business practices in place and fester, you choose the time tested, unethical and slimy route which will only put you right back where you started. And what a shame, with Depuy getting murdered, Frank still alienating Docs at SYK and SNN toiling with mediocrity, you could have grabbed some nice market share.

The bigger question is why are you so shocked? Zimmer is run by a group of colossal douche bags that don't have the first clue about orthopedics!

I'm shocked by the lack of this industry to embrace CHANGE. My company too lacks many of the constructive forces and attitudes needed to change and that's why we continue to suffer mediocrity. Its not an easy concept to grasp and God knows that when you've been in the business for 20-30 years and have had success, one would question why or all together ignore the writing on the wall. Some, unfortunately, have suffered the ultimate demise because they have resisted change or thought they were "above the law" or "that policy doesn't apply to me"...and we will probably see in the near future companies hit with fines because of their inability to accept change. Stay tuned...

Frankly, the problem is with Zimmer. All the other ortho companies are growing and adapting. J&J just announced intention to buy Synthes. Stryker announced purchases of Memometal and OrthoVita. Wright Medical expanding relationship with Kinectic Concepts. The list goes on and on. The Dvorak-McCaulley leadership "experiment" at Zimmer is a complete disaster. These guys have to go!
