Year End Review Appeals

I'm not signing off my YE Review if the company is going to be unfair, especially with their unattainable goals.

do you really think anyone gives a rats ass or that it would actually help you in any way shape or form ?

no wonder they taught the oz principle because you morons really do live in oz

This person has it right. You morons should know by now that everything whether you can control it or not is "Your Fault."

Former long term DM here, Calibrations and Year ends are manipulated by people above your managers. Certain number each year have to get a 1 rating either in Values and Behaviors or in Sales Results. If the OU or Region doesn't hit the curve HR wants they actually will go in and change what your manager rates you. Many good employees get caught up in this farce of a review process, hope that your manager likes you and has the balls to fight for you if not you are screwed. By the way Corporate HR doesn't give a rat's ass, the more you complain the more they will find ways to axe you.

For all of you who receive a 1 Objective Rating and had a high Aliskiren Weighting throughout the incentive year, I would appeal your rating through the Appeals Process when the window opens up in late January or early February. It's not a coincidence that most reps in this scenario ranked in the bottom of their respective OU's. I think it's so unfair that Novartis ranked everyone in Gen Meds against one another(CV vs CC)!!!

Yeah go ahead & appeal , this is how Novartis ID's who they perceive as the malcontents & you will be booted out with priority. Only an idiot would bring a complaint or issue to HR

You may be right.... But like anything else, Legal gets real nervous when they have to deal with a lot of the same cases or appeals.

I would appeal! If you're getting a 1 you will be gone no matter what! So, why not appeal as you have nothing to lose? Legal does get nervous when a lot of people are bringing forth a similar issue. Never the less, with all of the stock -outs in CV...I think there is a valid legal issue to go after if you're receiving a 1.

Yeah OK . Novartis doesn't care if they sell drugs that put people 6 feet under
(zelnorm , prexige for example) & you think they care if a bunch of soon to be laid off
sales reps piss & moan about their 1 ranking ?
Why do you think they will use V&B's for the majority of 1's ?
Time to grow up & exit fantasy land
Holy Moly are you people in denial or cluless or both

I think you're the once that's cluelesss. Fact is lawyer up and you'll get a big payout. Fact is that a lawyer could make a lot out of the stock -outs and a high weighting on CV and then a 1 in sales. Fact is layer up and you get a payout. Novartis get nervous with any additional pending law suits.

Former DM: I will attest to the fact that it is a bell curve with a specific percentage of 3's, 2's and 1's and it is per district. You can fight it to some degree but you have to have other DM's that are willing to give up some of their alloted 3's to get one back for your own team. As cutbacks happen year after year and you are left with teams of high performers what do you do. Many of us brought up this issue: look to the future how are you going to address your high performing 3's going down to 2's. 2's going down to 1's. They don't care. Probably why I am no longer with the company. Have never believed in unions but Novartis made me think differently since they will hire on new people and get rid of good performing reps . Or get rid of good performing people and promote someone with no experience. It is wrong. The majority of the product managers have very little experience whether in sales or product management (vs other pharma companies) and the results are apparent.
Do your job well, get your financial house in order, keep on the lookout for other opportunities and put yourself and your family first.

Well said. The appeals process and lawyers will get you no where unless you can show discrimination. This organization is heartless as most are. OWS is full of worthless dipshits, but they are right that corporations couldn't care less about people. However the government ain't gonna help because they may be worse. Holding out hope for a values change in how we do business, there are plenty of examples of doing it the right way. That is the hard way though and the easy ruthless way is easy and there aren't many visionaries out there anymore. If there is they sell out to the big corps and move on to the next idea. Lesson learned; work for yourself or a small org.

i had a real Moron DM and my biggest account was an teaching cancer hospital. They got a clinical trial and was lead investigator so my sales fell by 50%. I did increase my sales in all otherb accounts by 17% but still fell well below my qouta for the yr.

This embecile DM when she did my review asked if there was anything else I could have done that yr. When I said no, look at the major reason I was down she came back with "so your telling me you can't influence the lead investigator"?

Well its not my job to tell my top account that they should NOT be involved in a clinical trial nor is it respectable to the MD who I had a nice business relationship with for yrs.

She slammed me on the review and I didn't sign it right then and there like she wanted me to. Instead I took it home went over it line by line with my lawyer wife and disputed all her negative untrue facts. I then copied it and sent it into HR.

The facts are cover your ass because a review can be the best paperwork to get you out the door. Don't get bullied by any DM.
