Overall, It's actually a pretty good experience working here if you are on the RIGHT contract and NOT on one with a low life expectancy (i.e. Optimer, which recently bit the dust). For the most part, the folks working here are mature, seasoned and professional reps who worked in one or more Big Pharma companies AND are nice to work with.
It is different than field sales and takes some adjusting to get used to an office environment....However, you can make a decent salary here, plus get bonuses and the medical benefits are surprising very good (on par with Big Pharma companies I've worked for).
The DM's that I'm working with (or those I've met on other contracts) are competent and aren't really micromanaging at all.
I'd say, if you want a change of pace after doing some time as a Field Rep, this might be a good opportunity for you. Is this place perfect..Absolutely not, but IMO, there are more positives than negatives.
