Working here

Can some please (seriously) tell me about the culture? Also, does Cook have outside recruiters or is it in house? I got an email but I couldn't tell who the recruiter is. Thanks

Be very careful about deciding to work at Cook. They make you sign a non-compete,their pay is lower than the industry average and they promote people who go out of their way to kiss their ass.

This place sucks. Micromanaged, low pay and inferior management. Only use internal HR people to recruit because they are too cheap to spend money using recruiters with real connections.

Recruiters suck for the most part. They are jerks and never return your calls ever. So, I like when companies use HR because they look for the companies best interest but recruiters are out for themselves so they can get a commission regardless. They keep a lot of things hidden from the companies and that's how companies end up with bad and wrong employees. As far as low paying, do,you realize how bad the convoy is? It's a global issue and most companies are cutting back. Stop complaining

Using recruiters doesn't make sense for Cook. Recruiters seldom do any real work finding candidates. They always try for a "slam dunk", that is, trying to get a competitor to take a new job just like the one they have. This won't work for Cook because every competitor is making a lot more money and in a likely in a company with more potential. Cook mainly hires people who are otherwise unemployable. On the other hand, Cook is a good place to get experience before moving on to something better. Just don't stay more than a few years or you will be labeled a loser in the industry.
