work/life balance?

I am interviewing for a RAM position (west). From everything I have read, the compensation package seems very good and the product life-changing. However, I have not read anything that points to improvements in the company culture relative to work/life balance. Would anyone have feedback on this? Is company leadership aware of this - and are there plans to improve? Your honest, first-hand experience, is appreciated.

Is the trade-off that you make. Long hours for high pay. If you want a better quality of life, you have to accept lower pay.

I've been in the industry for a few decades. This is the most stressful gig any rep could sign up for. If you get a crap territory, it's OVAH. And you will age in dog years. And if your manager is micro... you are toast and will never sleep through the night again. You will work 7 days a week.

Some RAMs shut their phones off on Sundays. Good for them. Most don't.

At the end of the day, I made much more at a few start ups. With MUCH less stress.

Good luck with your decision.

1. People don't look like their initial photo company badges, because it's so true that people age in dog years here.
2. There has always been a lot of turnover across sales, marketing, research, etc.

I have been in the industry a few decades as well. Yes, it can be stressful here. Not in every area of the business, but in a good portion of the business. Yes, you will work longer than normal hours. You will make more versus the majority of companies. There might be a few exceptions, but not many. The few that pay at this level will also have stress. Sure, there might be a couple exceptions, but it is rare. You have to decide if it is worth the money. Overall, there have been many head cut reductions in this business. I am making the $$$ while I can with a focus on putting it away for retirement. Once I hit my number, I am done.
