for the reps that are part of the women's health division... how would you describe the current culture? is the base salary 50k negotiable? how supportive is bio/genpath in the areas where there is no bio/genpath presence?

thank you so much for your help...

GP is the worst possible company to work for... nothing but sleazy people. STAY AWAY. If you are looking for lab sales, there are tons of other decent companies. They rip off patients or write off tons of bills depending on which region you are in. So there goes your commission!

Amen, brother. Lousy group to be associated with. Try ANY other lab than this!

The $50k is no negotiabler, but if you can sell, you'll be over $200k in no time. If you cant sell they will fire you within 6 months. As for the other posters... everyone sounds bitter. The reps at GenPath do VERY well.

everyone who has a job is bitter and hates their company... what is wrong with you people??? leave. get in line. For about a year later when you have no money coming in you'll take anything...even a job with your current company

do you speak English? what is "no negotiabler". 9th grade must have been very hard on you.

What is the turnover rate of the GenPath reps? I have seen the same peeps in these positions for a long time doggy dog.

heard some reps making over $200K easily once established in territory...hard to compete against Quest and LabCorp in Cali...is this a good company to work with and is it reasonable to be making the $200K avg they sell during the interview???? moving from device so lab sales would be new to me..

any current reps weighing in on this discussion?? compensation, benefits, corporate culture, etc????

You are correct, I hear GenPath doesn't have any HMO/IPA contracts in Cali so you're earning potential there is non-existent. The most recent sales award ceremony clearly showed that the closer you are to New Jersey, the better chance you have of hitting big numbers and actually making money (the only people that won an award were based on the East Coast). I would say that if you are anywhere near the West, stay away.

Benefits aren't anything spectacular. Two weeks vacation AFTER one year of employment and if you don't use it, you lose it; What a joke. Culture is awful as well. VP of sales (DF) is a total douche bag and although you aren't working for him directly, remember, shit rolls down hill.

If you are thinking of getting into lab sales, I'm sure you could find a better gig.
