Did they honestly get rid of a rep who has been with this company for 7 years??? I know this rep passed on many other companies because he was loyal. His DM is an ass for this move.
What rep was it and what is the story?
Forest is not fooling anybody by using these tactics. It is the company's way of keeping complete control of the sales force and cutting costs. Any tenured rep is now considered a control threat, and add on the fact that they are probably making twice as much as a new hire - it's now formed the new Forest business model. Long gone are the days that relationships matter and DM's that have your best interests.
The management teams' sole duties now are to filter out the best, bring in the worst, and then do it all over again.
If you are a tenured rep, regardless of past performance, President's Club, current performance - you are a fool to think your job is secure. It is not, and hopefully your resume is in a dozen recruiters hands, and your interviewing skills are tip top.
No one is safe, and even if you are a model rep ( most of the ones who were canned are ) Forest will find a way to unload you.
my old manager actually told me that they had a list of the reps broken down by tenure and then president club rankings...said that they the "better" reps had been here for two or less years
another classic BS post....yes, they want to get rid of their top performers....all one of them. Yes, the company wants to spend the $100K finding, hiring, and training a new rep every two years instead of paying a more tenured rep $25K/year more. Yeah....they like firing people so much that they would rather blow that extra 50K every other year instead of keeping a top performer and avoiding a vacancy for 3 months, just for the thrill of it. Really, I heard the managers have a secret chat board so they can all talk about how much fun they had firing their top performers to save the company money at the expense of their own B&C checks, and their own performance (and thus salary) evaluations. My God, is everyone on this board a mindless idiot? Is everyone so paranoid that they really think the entire Executive Mgmt team is out to get them? Do they really not realize the incredible cost of hiring and training a new person? Do they really think it is cheaper to fire people, esp top performers? I know this post will drag out all of the crazy people...be ready for the flood of "i've seen Forest fire top performers for years" stories. Never forget this: This company exists to make money. Period. And if you think it is cheaper to fire a successful fourth year rep in hire a new person, you are extremely niave. Too many people chirping without really knowing the cost structures involved....a lot of MBA wanna-be's. Or a lot of people who beleive their performance is better than it really is, and that are in denial as to the real reasons they may be "under the gun."
