Merck strengthens its oncology platform by acquiring Viralytics for $394 million

Merck has announced its first acquisition in the year 2018. Hope this deal benefits Merck.

odds are it will not produce any additional revenue. Merck has a poor track record with M&As. Merck lost a ton of money on Schering Plough deal and just luckily managed to find Keytruda on a dusty shelf. Keytruda is bringing a good amount of revenue in but the cost of obtaining it has changed Merck forever. Our company has been spiraling down since that acquisition. Very sad to witness the train wreck.
