Will DS4 launch new diabetes drug?

It was brought up in training about the new diabetes drug that may be available to launch in Jan. I heard our AZ and BMS counterparts talking about a launch in Jan for it in Vegas. Anyone know if DS4 will be a part of it? Or is that highly unlikely with a contract company?

Been wondering about this as well. IMO, they very well might include DS4 because otherwise they would be setting up a situation where we would be competing against Dapa, unless they decide to just drop DS4 altogether and focus mainly on Dapa. OTOH, I ran into the Invokana rep today, and they have a pretty decent story to tell, so BMS/AZ are going to need some serious share of voice in order to take significant share away. So, who knows?

As to contract sales forces and launches, yes that does happen.

I have no confirmation either way however....
Janssen is using a Quintiles contract force to help with the launch of Cana
BMS rolled over their InVentiv reps into full time BMS reps in anticipation for the launch
Why would a company REDUCE share of voice when launching a new product? If they let DS4 go, then that is what they would be doing.
Being in the field prior to the launch gives reps time to get relationships up and running before a launch

So, indicators would say yes. Which means in Pharma the answer is No.

DS4 will probably acquire Bydureon and the AZ and BMS direct reps will launch new drug.

Onglyza competes with KXR. Both compete with Byetta and Bydureon. Just adding another pony to the fold.

Even if we do get it, the physicians I have talked to don't sound too thrilled about it. They don't like the MOA, and think it will be too hard on the kidneys. My other partner who has been doing this longer thinks it will flop.

Chances are no, and if so the thought of dealing with another round of retarded training is enough to make me want to drop kick this contract. Watch them try and find a reason to let go of people from the DS4 team during the new launch too. My DM is the only reason why I'm sticking around and everyone else can rot for all I care. Especially you Serban. You talentless smug fag.

So many managers leaving, I wonder if DS4 will be let go.

It is of course easily possible for the DS4 contract to end, but I doubt they would do it this soon. They've invested a lot of money in training with this contract, so it wouldn't be worth it to do it this soon. At the earliest, I'd say is 6 months. But it seems like DS4 is doing decent overall.

The fact is, we probably will get released. Its just a matter of time. This contract was doomed from the jump. First off, its a fucking Publicis contract. Almost anything this contract company gets their hands on turns to shit. Thomas Clark is an idiot. All of em are. These dumb ass execs at Publicis are completely out of touch with reality and in my opinion have ruined astra zeneca's reputation. Not that AZ had a stellar reputation to begin with though.

Decent? Umm we're not even close to closing in on the gap with Januvia. There are isolated territories with substantial growth but overall we suck.

Yes, but it takes time to change it that drastically. There is too much competition for this product, so it's not going to change overnight.

But does anyone have any real knowledge on this contract?

Whether DS4 gets dapa or not, I don't see them getting rid of DS4. If/when dapa launches, there is going to be an all out war with Janssen and Invokana, so the alliance is going to need as much impact as they can get. And at that point, they'll also need to have at least some reps with a strong focus on Onglyza, and DS4 would be the logical choice.

Are you completely crazy? Tom is a capable leader. Publicis is lucky to have him. Publicis is lucky to have many of the people on this contract. They are far and above what Publicis usually hires. As far as reputations go, Publicis has a rotten reputation. They pay bottom dollar salaries, the bonuses are embarrassing and the perks of pharma do not exist with contract sales.
