Will Bard buy something or be bought?

Now that the M&A is going on with the bigger companies, will Bard be bought? Medtronic buying Covidian produces product and tax benefits. Will Bard buy something to give it tax benefits and then be bought? Or will Bard be bought and consolidated? Every bigger company is in the hunt. Obama care is driving consolidation, will Bard be next?

Bard will be bought within 6 months. Let's face it, 10B market cap is chump change. My guess is JnJ will either buy Bard, Boston Sci, or St Jude. Bard is the most diversified of those 3.

What is the appeal of buying Bard? They do not have any ground breaking technology. Bard offers no tax benefits due to corporate location. Not sure what the upside would be in acquiring Bard. Maybe the Poweride is on the JnJ radar...

Bard makes sense just as BD makes sense as Covidian makes sense. The big need to get bigger! Up $3 yesterday! Bard offers a broad product line with a nice pile of ca$H! It might be commodities but it is commodities that every hospital will buy which creates leverage for your other products.

Under Obama care it makes sense for economies of scale to occur. The large hospital systems will join to create larger. The pharma companies have already joined and it makes sense for the med device manufacturers to get bigger.

Some of what Bard does could be centralized for further efficiency. Reduction and consolidation with other products would help the bottom line and it is one big cash cow with a juicy dividend and money in the bank.

The stock moves indicate that others are placing this same bet. Look for a strike price of 175 to 190 to get the deal done depending on how many bidders.
