Why was I retained?

I have below average numbers, not nearly as smart as some of my teammates, maybe put in 25 hours, no kids or expenses at my fully paid off condo to speak of- and to be quite honest- would have cared less if I was let go. I thought for sure I would get the severance package...but if Shire still wants to pay me my 90k plus benefits I won't fight it.

What a strange industry this is.

I was thinking the same thing. I feel guilty that I was hoping to get severed. I don't have another job lined up so I will stick around here for a little, but I was hoping to get a nice severance package and take a few months off. I can't figure out how I was not displaced, but I will collect a check for a little longer.
