Why recruiters so unprofessional

People! I have interviewed a lot in the past year and a half. Some companies do not even have an HR department-they OUTSOURCE their HR department. Yes, that's right. AND, I have had DM's schedule a phone interview with me and NOT call. NOT text. Not email to cancel. Only to get an email several days later to tell me that they have decided not to expand. It is a buyers market. We are viewed as expendable, replaceable, a dime a dozen, etc. Lots of people are unemployed and/or underemployed. Lots of people miserable at their current company for obvious reasons looking to jump just to get away from their manager, bad drug, counterparts, etc. It's bleak out there. Regeneron needs to step up their game with benefits but realistically,MANY MANY companies are worse. Unless its a biotech in oncology or true orphan diseases most places suck these days.
