Why is this not surprising?

Having an attorney for a CEO helps to explain why LCA finds itself in its present condition. I am sure at some point that Mr. DK will step aside, along with some of his cronies; massive bonuses and stock options in hand, and in the bank, and leave some other poor moron to try and repair the damage done by his regime. Kinda' gives one that "sitting in a deck chair on the Titanic" feeling.

Why isn't United listed as a defendant? since they were pressuring doctors as well to send medicare patients to labcorp. Cant wait for point of care testing to take over so we can get out of this amoral business.

So...there is a history of kickbacks....

There's probably so much underhanded bullsh** going on, that most of us can't even begin to imagine it all. I think it's pretty sad that we have to ENDURE compliance training all the while the knuckleheads at the top aren't practicing what they preach. Then again, I suppose it is pretty naive of me to hope that LCA might act in a responsible, forthright manner.

does anyone know how much of a discount labcorp gives to the physcians so they can direct bill the insurance plans at a mark up to make money?
Is it below medicare cost?

Yes, $ 2.00 for a CBC, Lipid $ 3.00, CMP $ 2.30, etc.
I have seen lower. Quest does the same thing. I have proposals that prove it, saw $ 1.00 for a CBC last week from a large Quest customer.

All the big labs do it to buy the Medicare, Medicaid and other third party business.

Many of our Contract books have ridiculous pricing and everyone copies the C.B. book into their new accounts because it is hard to get pricing approved.

This has been going on for many years and will continue to happen.
