Why haven't all the newly ordered cars been cancelled?

I ordered a new car in Dec. and with the impending layoff, they will have an over abundance of cars in the fleet they can reallocate.

I was expecting all the new car orders to be cancelled it haven't heard a word.

I'm sure I will not be here past May but I guess I'll have the new car for a few months. Sure glad I didn't spend any extra money on the car.

They don't need to. If you look at every restructuring/downsizing, this company has had a pattern. They get rid of many people in order to re-open positions a couple of months later. Unfortunately, this company will go without us.

In 6 months or so there will be new job postings...those released from Novartis can not reapply (legal document). Then, refill some positions at a 30% less wage. big savings.

I think this time things are very different. They will not have any new postions in a couple of months. They will be downsizing again later on this year.

What kind of new postions? There won't be anything to sell but Exelon Patch unless they acquire another drug somewhere or do a copromote

Canned in the 09 slaughter. I got a call from the dealership about a month after getting the boot. Mr___________, your new fleet car is at __________ dealership. Give us a call.

Never called. But it was weird and a sad day.

Therefore, if you have not heard about the car, it does not mean your job is safe, unfortunately.

Best of luck. Things will pan out.

Maybe in years past this was a pattern, but why would they hire new reps? What would they sell? I have never seen a once prominent company loose products as quickly as Novartis. Kinda sad.
