Gemcitabine and others were nucleosides (like NM-283) idenix's first "drug; ...wait their first drug they marketed and manufactured was Tyzeka together with Novartis . Yes, THEY DID THE MANUFACTURING FOR NOVARTIS!!!. both companies didn't care too much about this drug once they realized that gileads was much better, they were looking forward to NM-283 the first Oral for HCV (I'm dating myself) well, do you know why it didn't work. Like so many oncology drugs....... Toxicity (yup - you needed grams not Micrograms) Then came Sofosbuvir...from Idenix's sister (and I mean sister company) well, the rest is history (no, not really) You think its all about SOF? its not!!! its about the next 20 SOF's in ONCOLOGY!!!
