Why don't job postings list the pay?

I am considering changing positions soon. However, MOST job listings I see do not list the salary range or the bonus.

Why is this?

I do about $150,000 a year (device). I don't really have time to apply to every job, so a job where I can make much less to me isn't worth applying to. Then when I do apply, the company calls me and asks what I am making, they say they can't get anywhere near that and we both agree to never talk again, because they can't pay me what I want.

Is there a reason these companies don't list this info? It seems to me they could save A LOT of time on their part if they just listed this up-front.
