Why does the rest of Lilly suffer?

Neuroscience is the life of this company- not just now but also the future with 1 potential blockbuster (mglu) and another drug set to launch in 2015. No other division outside of Oncology has the potential revenue generating products like neuro.

That is why neuroscience is so coveted within our organization and why they refuse to part with top talent.

First time in the History of the Universe that anyone has put the words "neuroscience" and "top talent" in the same sentence.
What a big kidder you are. I bet you hang spoons from your nose when you eat dinner out...
Seriously, you are killing me here!

You lost all yout "top talent" years ago. It now resides in cardio.

Highly doubt that cardio will have any significant cuts. Diabetes seems like likely division to be slashed.

Word inside is Diabetes and Cardio to get significant cuts by summer. Neuroscience and MSK by end of year.

Effient isn't doing anywhere near what we thought and continues to struggle with Plavix going generic- not sure why you or anyone would be surprised by cuts. The cuts in the other divisions should be obvious also.

Pc3 reps in diabetes gone. Honestly, do we really need cardio/men's health.... Please they can be absorbed into neuroscience at the same time downsize that division! As far as the CAS reps selling insulin in hospitals let those mothers go and let the diabetes division sell the insulin where it belongs! Please let my CAS go.... She is absolutely worthless!!

Moron alert! Just a hunch, but Neuro has been paying for a good portion of the other divisions for hmmmmm?!...the last 20 years. Neuro hits a road bump and several others have to get off the gravy train as well. Still whining? Add up the total sales of Zyprexa, Prozac, Prozac QW, Strattera, Cymbalta, and Sarafem, then subtract the sales of all other lilly products and you owe the Neuro sales force a crap load of money. Shut up and be grateful for the ride. All the talent is in Cardio? Right! How is Effient working out?

You need to see the big picture. CAS representatives are some of the most respected representatives in the company- in addition we will be keeping a hospital presence for future products- those reps aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

The reason you think she is worthless is because she isn't currently has no incentive from a bonus standpoint to pay much attention to the insulin business (which sells itself and is based upon cost).

Its rep's like you that can't or refuse to see the big picture that stay a rep for your whole career. Try to see the big picture it will do your career good.

"the reason you think she is worthless is because she currently has no incentive from a bonus standpoint to pay much attention to the insulin business" MY POINT EXACTLY!!!!!! GIVE IT BACK TO THE DIVISION THAT CARES!!!! AND THAT RIGHTFULLY SHOULD HAVE IT!!!! I've been a rep for over 15 years and the DOPs in the hospital I have talked have NEVER seen a Lilly Hospital Rep. DOPs may pick the cheapest insulin but honey, there are plenty that can't stand their Novo rep and this rep isn't "insentivized" enough to do her job! Even when she is given leads on a hospital wanting a bid. It's all about Effient and only Effient in the hospital that have cath labs ( I do understand the reasoning behind this... I'm not stupid) what I don't like seeing is my competition killing us on the insulin hospital side because some worthless fatass doesn't want to do her job! The "BIG PICTURE" is to provide value to all of our customers! The "BIG PICTURE" isn't with Effient sales! Yeah, what a blockbuster that is! Just like Zygris!!!!it's people like you that shouldn't be around in this industry!

You state that they buy the cheapest insulin and then imply that they would buy Lilly insulin because they don't like the Novo rep- which is it. From what I hear some of the best and most experienced representatives are in the hospital group- or at least used to be. My guess is maybe you just have a bad one or maybe it really isn't worth her time and she (like all good representatives) spend time where it is worth it not where some low level diabetes rep things they need to be. Think about it a little before you reply and make yourself look even more stupid.

Effient is a growing and very important molecule for Lilly- it isn't going to be nearly as big as once projected but it is still very important to our bottom line especially until our pipeline starts (hopefully) to produce in 2015+
