Why are so many talented minority employees leaving Novartis?

I would submit the following reasons:

1. The insular culture at the highest levels of the US organization
2. The drastic pay differential
3. The lack of promotional opportunities
4. Inadequate mentoring and retention programs to identify and promote top talent

The mass exodus of minority employees will be a long-term disadvantage with an extremely diverse customer and patient population. Basel should take note of the talent pipeline shortfall that is happening under current US Pharma leadership.

Who cares?

At Nofartus it's getting to be that the minorities are white men.
At the recent national meeting I noticed that most districts are about 70% female now... and one district had all female and 1 gay guy, another all female and 2 black dudes....no white men inany of those three (except the gay, different minority status).
This is how Nofartus reacts to the lawsuits, extreme.

Must be leaving on their own because they sure didn't get hit hard in the layoff. You really narrowed it down though when you said "talented" minority employees. A relatively small number there. Most of the minority got hired for that reason. Just "axe" them! The safest employee at Novartis has long been the black female. Guaranteed not to be fired unless they commit a felony. Now after the lawsuit that is probably not good enough. A managers nightmare. HR, legal and upper management will keep hands off to make sure they don't bring suit again. Same with the gays. Can't cut them loose either even if they don't work. For example, just look at all the "talented" non-minority employees that were let go in the layoff through no fault of their own while they kept some of the absolute worst in the industry. No wonder the company is a mess. Very similar to Congress in leadership. There is NONE!

Quota hires are pathetic . Talk about sense of entitlement !
They should be protesting in wisconsin with the seiu .
Something they're actually good at.
Bitching Whining Pissing & Moaning

Get used to it. When you get laid off, you'll be so sick of answering all those EEOC questions for their quota hires. Very soon, whites will be the minority, then, will the tables turn? EEOC - all in order to get their federal funding? All for phrases such as, "My momma, she be pretty". "It be gud", "let me axe you again". All from the names such as Chandalier, Tyshell, etc. Bill Cosby hit the nail on the head.

I'll be so glad once I leave this godforsaken company full of racists.

Look around people, which minorities are you complaining about? Most of the leadership positions (as well as probably 80% of the rest....) are filled by non-minorities. We talk a good talk about diversity, but there is none to be found here. If you do not like what Novartis calls 'diversity', how is it that you manage to function in the real world?

Fools.

I really don't believe people are racists when they see special treatment going to one minority group or the other. Novartis plays this game well, and is at fault because they promote minorities who are incompetant into positions they are not qualified for and bypass others who are more competant or who have achieved more. Is that being racist? I think not that is frustration, disappointment and a feeling of hopelessness. If you have ever worked for a minority supervisor you know what I am talking about and it is not just skin color, look at the latest trend with the movement of all the women into so called leadership positions, just an enourmous overeaction to the gender lawsuit, many of them not qualified but put in place to appease the courts. Hell all the talent is fleeing this place.
