I cannot understand why this position hasn’t been dissolved. What do they do? NOTHING. They provide zero ROI.

Sorry you don't have a good KAM but many of us do. Bring it to the attention of your management and get the KAM off their dead a** or hire another one. They do bring ROI, (I'm not a KAM).I cannot understand why this position hasn’t been dissolved. What do they do? NOTHING. They provide zero ROI.

No one cares about your stupid opinionsHahahahaha! Yeah, in your and their dreams.
You make a good point, these two roles could easily be combined, however there may be some legal compliance issues in doing this.... if not then it should be done.KAM roles and Director of KAMs are almost as freeloading as RAMs who just work 3 months a year leading up to a formulary decision
KAMs do a little more throughout the year, but for most part it is a glorified overpaid job to stay in your home office and get paid DM level salaries without having any direct reports or 10-15 headaches to answer daily.
Also KAMs do not have a define role so impossible to determine their value or ROI but great role to be in at mgt pay with little work and no responsibility .

Its probably the best job in PFE if you can get it- beats the hell out of being a manager, no quota, no direct reports, no expectations around "field time".KAMS are grade 16. That’s right 16.
My DM told me they got a shit load of Stock options and TSRs this year. She is pissed and can’t believe what she heard.
No one cares about your stupid opinions
IndeedThe number one reason, by far, for being a KAM is not the pay or equity award, which is nice, but not having to deal with reps who can't do anything on time. F every one of you.
No one cares about your stupid opinionsYou mean the truth. what a nitwit you are.
All the CIA's have forced the company to create so many "non sales" roles that are still customer facing. You can thank the idiots who made their direct reports promote off label and the billions we have paid in fines if you don't like KAMs. The KAM role was created in 09 after the Bextra and Neurontin fiascos had imposed permanent changes within the company. They no longer wanted reps working in the C Suite level or dealing directly with cost and coverage/reimbursement. Hence, so many different roles that do not directly pertain to moving marketshare.
You’re not worth a grade 16. Every company has KAMS trying to call on C suite level customers. Your seen as no value reps. You don’t have access and you sit at home on conference calls most days. You ask every SHR you work with to help get you appointments for a Transition or introductory meeting. These are not C suite customers your meeting with. They are KOLs and group practice administrators within hospital systems or large group practices. As soon as you leave, we are told not to bring you back because you waste their time. You promise the world and rarely deliver. If and when you do deliver, you provide resources we used as reps years ago. Take Chantix for example. Coincidence? You totally mix your unbranded platform with sales. You lean on sales for every aspect of your job. If the KAM legal team finds out what you really do with the sales organization, your position would be immediately frozen till further notice.
