Who wants to bet that Perry's and KK's stupid realignment/expansion idea (whatever it is) will be defunct by the end of 2011?

They are setting their own B&L reps to up for failure by trying to compete with each other for business. Doctors are not going to like it one bit! Or all the reps will leave because of the huge territories.

This is the dumbest idea that I have ever seen with any company. But why should I expect a brilliant idea from Perry or KK. They are stupid.
 






This whole thing is like getting a game of three card monte going on the deck of the Titanic as it is sinking. Who in their right mind is really going to pay attention to this?
 






In warfare the term "divide and conquer" is what an army does to it's enemy to weaken them and make them easier to defeat. Looks like we're dividing up our own sales force and you can say that this move will make us our own worst enemy. Expect a bloodbath for 2011 as we let the competition roll through our reps and picking off all the prime accounts in the process. One word for senior management: assanine

They just gave the 'favorite' / 'best' reps a 'promotion' that will end up making those reps quit / get fired. Zirgan is already at 50% market share, where else you gonna grow? Besivance is a huge failure and already on a downhill slide as both competitors have 'NEW' BID products. F-n Crazy! Never been at a company with 100% blind upper management.

Agree!!!! My doctors are already asking who the hell is running the show at B & L? Commenting on how stupid of an idea it is to make our territories even bigger much less split the products up. So how are we to manager our post op accounts? Seriously, the dumbest thing i have ever heard. Give it 9 months or so and things will change again b/c they will lose too many good reps or good accounts to say the least!
 






Are there really any good reps left? Okay maybe a couple are still there. But losing them at this point hardly constitutes losing too many. B&L has already lost in every category except OTC. Surgical IOL is busted. RX is way busted. B&L is a joke. You have 1 decent product...Lotemax. I always liked it. Always liked using it, but it really isn't necessary. It's only positive use really is off label for THE MOST SEVERE of my Dry eye patients. Those with serious corneal staining. That's it. Anything less severe and it IS NOT PROVEN TO HELP.

Post op... surgical technique and equipment has made dosing longer than 2 weeks unnecessary and therefore use of a branded (expensive) product is not needed. Generic Pred is all that is needed. Even an antibiotic is not proven to help outcomes, generic works just fine and is cheaper for the patients.

The only really decent eye drop out there right now that is better than generic equivalents is Xibrom but it's too damn expensive. The glaucoma products are good too but with xalatan going generic that's it for that whole class. Show is over.

B&L really does not have a competitive advantage anywhere except OTC. I love the soothe line of products.
 












B+L future: Contact lens/lens products and OTCs - even then, not the market leader. Maybe also generics as a cash cow. The rest - so long - it's only a matter of time ...
