Who is responsible for betting on AcipHex ER?

Was it AM? TK? SS?

Who owned Eritoran? Who is getting fired for bad due diligence?

Is there a common thread that should get kicked?

Didn't AM work on both of those products?

You need to pay more attention when the chiefs speak from the stage. Eritoran was an Eisai product from the get-go. No due diligence just us doing the work.

Poster #1: Are you asking about Aciphex ER or Eritoran??

As Poster 2 stated, Eritoran is an Eisai-only product -- but it failed and it's highly unlikely the secondary data currently being analyzed will bring forth any opportunity for a specialized indication.

Aciphex ER - not sure what happened here but Lonnel did say last Friday that the FDA was not happy with the higher incidence of safety issues (hip fractures?) as the dosage was increased (20mg to 50mg).

I'm totally winging it here but I'm sure another knowledgeable employee can elabore.

OP here. I know eritoran was ours. My question of diligence was more around the gamble on success as opposed to having a contingency plan. Oh wait, that was lorcaserin with arena...

Actually the question of diligence around any of our recent failures has been highly questionable. Contingency plan? Eisai has never (and will never) been a proactive organization. Everything they do is in fire drill mode which creates chaos and an environment where employees are like 'deer in the headlights'. So, it is no wonder why there were no contingency plans for Eritoran, Aciphex ER, Aricept 23, Lorcaserin, etc. As long as the same leadership remains, this will not change.

Poster #5 you could not be more correct. When I joined this company four years ago, I couldn't even get HR to send my offer letter to the correct address (the one I'd lived at for 2 years). Then it was fire drill, after fire drill, after emergency fire drill..........it is a culture issue and for a company of this size not to have a Plan B, is astounding. I know this is a high risk business, but for ALL your bets to not pay out???
