Who do you think will be the first Regional to jump? How long will it take? Are you currently looking? No names or other identifying info please. I am just curious. Any indies out there thinking about dropping the line?

I can't speak for everyone, but the more our indi looked at the questionable coding, the more he didn't like it. UPI's success is hinged on the acceptability of 64555, and many payors are getting wise. I have found many don't consider PTNS medically necessary or investigational. Once they find out that 64555 is being used for PTNS, they deny the claim. Sucks.

The 64555 was approved my the AMA and has been paid by Medicare. 64555 will continue to be a valid Neurology code and is not going away. The AUA screwed Uroplasty. Period. End of story. The 64999 will be an ordeal but it validates that PTNS is a valid treatment option since the AUA backed it while they screwed Uroplasty. It will be a long two years before PTNS recieves its own code.
