It is hard to believe that Government Affairs was not involved and that the GC in Switzerland was. AT&T fired its top lobbyist in DC. Can't believe Novartis isn't firing whoever the brain dead person who really recommended this idea (i.e., it wasn't the GC in Basel).

If you read the Forbes interview, Joe got tipped off by a 3rd party (Trump?) to contact Cohen for "consulting" support. Joe then instructed the DC affairs team to meet with Cohen after Joe and Felix signed a contract for $1.2m. Sounds backasswards to me. The excuse about wanting to move fast makes no sense. You make the time to vet this kind of "consulting" deal, else this only exemplifies the double-standards of the top leadership. Do as I say, not as I do.

The biggest mistake was in being exposed.
