White House sides with sales reps on overtime pay

While I don't begrudge you sales reps for going after what's to your benefit - I'm from IT and have worked a ridiculous amount of hours for Merck over the years. Apparently IT has no OT protection because we're white collar workers. I would think sales is also white collar so I'm a little lost on how you're entitled to OT while I've literally worked through nights, for 20+ hour stretches, over weekends and holidays and have to lump it.

That's right, lump it!

Do your job and stop your whining. If it is taking you 20+ hour stretches to do your job, then you aren't doing it right. Start thinking smarter, get outside the box, mulitask better, work in a matrix format rather than your silo.

Shesh, damn cry babies.

If i knew who you were I would delete your network profile so you couldn't use your computer for days.

Thanks for the laugh - if users knew how to submit articulate requirements I wouldn't need to work such long hours but since they think changes are easy to affect and don't want down time during business hours I, along with most IT people, get screwed out of OT and then are rewarded with outsourcing.

wah, wah, wah. The sooner we outsource the better to raise my dividend. It is the American way. Remember, Corporations are people too!

First the janitors (to the children), then the security people (to a contractor), then the clinical staff (to CROs), then the laboratory people (to China and academics) and finally, the we will have the virtual company we deserve.

I'd rather go with President O than Pretender Willard Mitt. I am far from rich and thus he does not care about me. I might even need a safety net if Merck keeps going where they seem to be going. I am a street-wise city boy but I am scared shitless over the platforms from the republican boys. BTW- have those weapons of mass destruction been found yet? Or have the 2 wars self paid as W said they would? The only thing they got paid with is about 6000 lives of American servicemen and women. Romney would have let GM go under. Your thoughts about that last one?

Pres O will create a bankrupt US,,time for a new president in 2012 one who know about business, job creation and keeping to a budget....unless you would like to become another Greece or a socialist republic.

You must be joking with Paul, the guy who said he never would have signed the civil rights act if he was seated back then? He also claimed he never read his racist newsletter? Oh yeah, lot's of credibility there for the good ol boy. As far as job creators, there would have been a lot less jobs in Detroit with Willard Mitt in the chair. Like the PP, I'll take my chances with Obama. Not a fan but I look at the alternative- they are more like 4 girls fighting over a boy than 4 senior politicians fighting for the highest job in the US. It's funny to watch Fox claim the improving job numbers have been doctored. If unemployment had remained the same they would tout that but they can't accept we are actually reducing those not working (except of course at Merck where we are increasing that number).
