Whiners - Good Luck!

I am a virgin at this, but needed to say a couple things after being educated on my initial visit. I did discover that I am a 'real tool' - so that's something important to know and build upon. Anonymous postings are somewhat funny and sad at the same time. I find it interesting the level of complaining from those who have probably never picked up the phone to call anyone in Sr. Management with anything constructive to make those things bothering them better. Some of us have and continue to do so - just so you know, those on the other end are always willing to listen and learn. Constructive feedback with potential well thought out changes are considered. This I know, but of course one needs to be willing (and have the courage) to make the call and offer suggestions in a resonable fashion. I guess, as I am one still here, that it is good that you have decided to take advantage of your free will employment and leave to another Company. Some people need another pasture to graze in so I wish you good fortune...those looking for the grass to be greener - well good luck. We all make our own fortune and since you have departed and are still complaining, well I guess that bodes well for whatever Company has hired you based on your expertise in this Market. They will soon figure out that they hired more than just your experience. Is it perfect - no; will it get better - yes. Cubist is now leaner and it's time to get back to building something special again.

First of all, I am NOT a virgin with this company. Been here for a long time and while your comfort level with Sr. Management is just that, I don't share your poppy, rainbow, grass is greener here at Cubist attitude. There was a time when communication was allowed with SR. Management without fear of repercussion. Candid discussions were allowed. But, in time, as we got bigger, as with many large bloated upper management companies, that communication really got squashed and fear from losing your job or being "Marked for life" has become the norm now here at Cubist. I'm afraid to speak the truth how I feel about the unbelievable load of administration bullcrap (photocopies, PME closeouts, entering calls, Cubefolio, etc) that this company forces you to do, I'm afraid to tell upper management that I think the CRS program for car allowance sucks and I lose money on that continuously. Im afraid to tell them that one rep selling 5 drugs is impossible to do and puts the rep at risk for NOT making any bonus at all. Im afraid to tell them that Im a 20 year veteran in drug sales and that having a RBD ride with me 2 days in a row is counterproductive and doesn't help anyone. I'm afraid to tell upper management that the Expense reporting system where they now have a 2nd party to analyze our reports is not only counterproductive but causes endless delays in reimbursement and thus delays to AMEX in them receiving THEIR payments. Im afraid to tell management that a small, nobody company like Durata and other companies seem to appreciate their reps more by offering them a bigger salary, stock options and higher bonus potential than THIS company. They didnt have to analyze anything. They just did it. We have YET to hear anything from Senior Management about any changes to our salaries, to the way we do things, nothing. It has been quiet out there which tells me they really don't give a shit about their salesforce. They knew about this bombardment of recruiting from the MC months ago at our NSM and they did nothing. Im afraid to tell them that Im frankly TIRED of a 1-2% merit increase every year even in years where I win COE or have phenomenal numbers for this company. It's insulting. And I'm afraid to tell them that Stea and others cashing in their stock options and making millions off the backs of the sales team takes the wind out of my sails especially when other companies like MC can offer base salaries in the 150 range. Again, our company has become a hidden paradise for upper management. They need to slim upper management down and take that extra money and get us another salesforce to help sell these 5 drugs so EVERYBODY (not just upper management) can make some money here.

My two cents worth from a veteran who doesn

I really love this post bc it says everything, I too, am afraid to say. I absolutely do not feel comfortable talking to upper management bc Cubist does not encourage that type of environment, and never has. I was ranked as one of the top performers last year for 2013 and received a 1% pay increase. It was humiliating at the time, but now I know it's the norm with Cubist. I also agree....A small company like Durata can increase their reps salaries literally OVERNIGHT by $10,000 and all Cubist can do is think about it? I don't considering this whining.SOLUTION: Increase our salaries and make it easier to hit bonus! Please JUST DO IT! What is there to think about? Greg Stea just cashed in $10 million worth of stock, that would have more than covered it. Morons.

We are coming to take your business. And we will use your post as motivation. You would have been better off keeping your mouth shut.

Enjoy working for Pfizer once they buy you out. Oh and enjoy making your 105K while I'll be making 150K with a 50-60K bonus. Even with a crappy drug they still pay their sales reps like we should be paid. They get it. Durata gets it. But Cubist doesnt. good luck.

Oh good for you but you'll all be out on your asses in 6 months with no sales and we'll be sailing along with 5 ass kicking drugs. BTW we won't hire you back no matter how much you beg.

As I fought hard to sell our great antibiotics today, I felt damn alone out there. Upper Management is the worst I have ever seen. Middle management as my manager as an example only shows up on occasion! I find out another outstanding Rep and friend is leaving today.

Grossly underpaid and with a fucked car reimbursement, I have only the great meds I sell to fall back on! But I don't lean back too far as their cost bites my sore ass a hundred times a day!

Yea good luck trying to juggle 5 drugs all at once because your upper management would rather have more upper management than higher the necessary reps to help carry the load. Once you crash and burn trying to keep all 5 drugs above water, then they will fire you and you be out on your ass. So, you'll either make little to no money because its impossible to sell 5 drugs or you'll be on PIP before the end of the year because expectations for a rep to sell 5 drugs was set too high...Have fun.

Funny how things change in a year... Or have they?
