Word is out that there are a couple of extremely weak (intellectually & integrity) respiratory specialty reps under the guise for extended medical leave for months on end now because they cannot handle the responsibility of being a dedicated specialty rep in a tough economy ?

Heard one of them is has been out on at least 3 medical leaves within the last 12-18 months which has gotta be nearing a pharma record if not already a record ?

What do you have to present to receive a medical leave?
Paperwork wise... Or can you just claim you can't work because
Pain

Anyone who thinks getting by on medical leave is an attarctive strategy is LOSER. Can it be done? Of course. I know someone that has been doing it for 25 years (the whole deal, phycologists, disability, etc.). It's fucking pathetic. Do yourself a favor and focus on how to be the most you can...not on how to get by with the least.

Good point if i was on medical leave & this type of information was posted on
a public forum I would immediately contact an attorney
& find out who "leaked" confidential medical information
I mean serioulsy the Manager is not even allowed to disclose medical leave reasons
to other reps
so it could only be the manager him / herself or an HR cubicle grunt

This has probably happened more often than not
Time to get Sanford Whittles on the case........AGAIN :)

My former manager wrote the first initial post about me. I knew it right away, but chose to ignore him. I'm so over it all. The reason he a) misquoted the amount of leave one can have during a 12-18 mos.time frame is because he didn't have his facts straight; and (b) taunted me is because I never told him why I was on leave. I had two surgeries in two years to correct a very serious condition. They occurred in the summer because that's the only time my mother could visit and help. I couldn't walk much, def couldn't drive and had to stay off my feet as much as possible. It wasn't any of his business "WHY" I was out. So now he posts about it.

I thought of pursuing a complaint, but this is an anonymous board. Plus it's enough just knowing that he's bothered enough to write about. Also he's the insensitive one (trust me, i'm keeping my true feelings to myself) for jeering at me when I had two invasive surgeries. At the end of the day I took care of my health. That's all that matters.

My former manager wrote this about me. I never confided in him as to "WHY" I was on leave. I didn't want to tell him, none of his business. But I'll tell all of you. I had 2 surgeries in two consecutive years. Each was to correct a specific problem, the same problem, except that the first procedure didn't take. Afterward, I couldnt drive, Much less for the length of a workday. the procedures did occur in the summer because that's the only time my mom could fly here to help me. I also have a child who was 2 and 3...I couldn't even pick him up.

I never responded because I'm over it. I knew it was him immediately. Thought of doing something, but this board is anonymous and I don't need to carry negativity. So over it. Ought of here!

Your douche bag of a manager sounds like a freakin psychopath!!!!

You should call in and report his behavior. Life happens and many people have to take time
off because of medical situations. What a mean spirited person to even start this thread but sadly the person who started it seems to be a sociopath and they believe they are doing good.

You can do 6 months so your info is not right can't get 3 - 6 month medical leave in 12 + months. But I did do 1 - 6 month leave in the last year.

I think it's important to understand how short term disability works/medical leave. You can get up to 6 months off per year for a single medical condition. As long as you come back for at least 1 month you can go out again for a different medical condition, as it's a different disability. So someone can go out for 6 months for lets say depression, come back for a few months then go our again, even in the same calendar year for a different medical condition, let's say back surgery, and stay out yet another 6 months. You could do this continuously.
