Where did Jeff Ludwig go?

Very sad if asked to leave...Jeff was solid dude...had a chance to work indirectly for him 6 years ago...he was a good manager and valued the opinion of others around him. If asked to leave...not good.

Didn't leave on his own, though was graciously allowed to hit Amgen retirement age. He's a great guy, but always shied away from addressing difficult situations. He wanted to be liked. Great guy though.

This sucks for Amgen....it has lost a ton of good people thru forced retirements or being pushed out the door for "compliance" issues. Jeff is one of the good ones and his leadership cannot be replaced. He seemed to be a lifer but good people get burned at this place way way too much.

JL was a shallow and mindless tool bag...big and slick talker who weaved in a lot of bad corporate phrases and buzzwords. He was a good guy I guess, but a lightweight for sure with not a lot of brainpower. No one every accused JL of being smart...

Amgen's non compete must be a fucking joke if he was able to go to a direct competitor.
Jim and Jeff worked together for years at AMGN...this must have been in works long before the announcement. No way he is able to go unless his deal is air tight.

I remember my first time doing research... non-competes are not legal or valid in California.

No love loss with Vijay. He was a shallow person who did not care about doing the right thing or his team, only managing up and climbing the ladder.

Yep I agree. He was a career climber and nothing more. Would throw you under the bus if it meant elevating his career.

Besides McKinsey, Amgen cultivates these assholes in their MDP and CLP program.

He did spend a lot of time on his knees to guys like Joe Turgeon and Stuart Arbuckle and lastly that dick bag Richard Paulson. You kind of have to do that to climb a ladder like he did. HOWEVER, he did love the company and seemed to be at spearhead of listening to feedback from the reps and managers. I know he had hard time hitting numbers and my guess the constant "true ups" and moving the line on numbers(almost always down) under his helm caught up to him.

The amazing thing is that these Amgen management types keep getting other jobs at other companies. Can't these companies see that Amgen has been sinking for at least 15 years with these geniuses making decisions.

Did he go on his own? Why would he leave when so much is going on ? I think he was asked to go
This kinda sucks if true. I know Amgen is not perfect....compliance, legal, competition...yada yada. But we all have lives and families to support. Jeff is a pretty solid dude...I had a chance to work beside him when he first came to Amgen. Yes he was an up ladder guy. But not every one is cut out to be that person. You have to be a little bit of an ass kisser. But ultimately, he was one of the best bosses I ever had in 20 plus years here at Amgen. He moved around some for the company, he would hop on a plane if need be to see important customers and I think he truly believed in developing people. If he was forced out it is a bad look for Amgen and good for Coherus.
