Personally, I build my resume everyday as any smart person would in todays world. If you choose to take things out of the context in which they were said, or missed part of what the point was, then you should pack it in. The point I heard was doing our jobs well and putting up big numbers pays dividends in all scenarios whether it was to make a good bonus, win awards, or whatever, or if we do face unfortunate circumstances we have a solid record to take with us. I agree with that wholeheartedly, its realistic isn't it? The alternative is to be a loser and cry over spilt milk and let someone else decide our future while the numbers bottom out. The people that are in the same district as I seem to have gotten the same message as me, maybe you just misinterpreted it. People hear what they want I suppose. I'm not packing it in, I'm hunkering down.
