Truth is, he’s a pretty talented guy. He ‘outlived’ Soeters, Jurek and Jesper, so he had to be doing something right. Of course not everyone likes the boss, that just goes with the job. But I’ll tell you - we worked together for a while in his Market Access role (I left in ‘18), and he knows his stuff. He was likely chosen bc of his expertise in an area that was increasingly influencing the market and Novo’s business. Was at the right time and place with Obesity, as all current employees over the last 5 years have been. So shut up and I hope you banked your bonus and massive stock payouts.
I have Director-level friend there now, no direct reports and they’ll earn a million dollars in ‘24. One-million-dollars.

Pretty darn good.

So don’t worry about Doug. Be happy with the slice you got.

I’d say he did a really good job, caught a good bit of the obesity ‘wave’ and looked longer term personally and said ‘I’m good, I’m out’.
Hopefully in turn for creating the opening for Dave, he negotiated an accelerated vesting and cash out of his stock.

And given today’s news, it looks like he’s the smartest one out there.

How does Novo get drugs selected last year and 3 this year and Lilly has ZERO selected? I guess Novo doesn’t payoff the FDA as much.
