When does Sales layoffs start?

Looks like US Non sales RIFs in Finance, Engineering, R&D, HR etc are over this week?

when does sales layoffs start? Heard GM want sales to keep selling until Year end in May and then start layoffs?
 












If I were a “specialist” in the surgical business I’d be very nervous. Most are in the higher sales pay band but no longer the customers’ primary point of contact. Redundant “fat” will be calved first.

I doubt any relationship driven businesses see RIF's. Commoditized capital + disposable businesses where reps have become redundant to operations are likely to suffer. Particularly those with minimal competitors or non-differentiated competitors.

Still, doubt sales org takes many hits. Same reason delivery trucks don't get rid of there tires to increase margins. Somebody's got to move the product and internal folks aren't that.
