When are the Prolia commericals going to start?

Need Help

We need help here! We are doing everything we can but we need patients to be made aware of Prolia. All I see are Reclast commericals-that's what patients are asking for. But wait, on the other hand, what are the commericals going to say-they may hurt us, serious infections, cancer, etc! Do we really want our patients that are already on Prolia to be made aware of the serious issues-they may not want their future injections. Something to truly think about!

Have you ever heard of "informed consent" not to mention the FDA strict requirements? All pharmas/bios are required (by the FDA) to let it all hang out. Right now, Amgen is quite heavy in Enbrel ads.

Exactly, I realize Amgen is quite heavy in Enbrel adds-I go back to the orginal question, when are the Prolia commericials coming?? Enbrel is doing okay but Prolia is not meeting expectations so..................anwser the question?

My guess is, it will be some time for a full out push on TV as the company is apparently having problems getting the doctors to switch in great numbers. If the viewer can't get a doctor to prescribe, then the ad money is a waste. Once the doctors uptake in numbers, the ads should be prominent and easier for the patient to say, "I saw the ad, "Will this help me"?

Re Enbrel, it has never done what the Amgen expectations were. It is in flat sales and the net profit on the drug is quite small due to the purchase agreement of Immunex (Wyeth). The doctors know about the drug but Amgen already had competition with Humira and Rimicade. I really don't see where the TV ads will increase business. There has been enough time to see any results. Maybe, it's a late bloomer.
