what's the starting salary?

bottom line, how bad is it? i hear it bad. still it beats unemployment. please tell me, with 5 years experience, what can i be lowballed to?

everybody starts at the same. read the board douche-box. forest is the lowest paying company in the industry. this is why they go after enterprise rent a car clerks and used car salesmen or office max or staples clerks.

forest dangles the "pharma carrot" and there are still so many desperate suckers out there who think this is a stepping stone company and their foot in the door, when they have no idea what they are getting themselves into. Expect a base in the high 40's low 50's. Non negotiable, if you show the expected disappointment and embarrassment by the offer, they simply cross you off the list and move on to the next chump.

forest does not like to hire or recruit reps with proven successful experience in pharma, they view these people as threats as they will call out the DM's lack of professionalism and lack of experience right off the bat and forest does not like anyone who can form a thought that is logical or may go with common sense. They want robots and sheep whom they can control and mold into the cult of shit that is forest.

Many will tell you drawing unemployment is a toss up vs. working at forest, if you can get health insurance via a spouse then I would agree, it is better to draw unemployment and not work at forest, it is that bad and you are setting yourself up for minor league shit, stay away unless you really need the medical benefits and this is your only option.

There's truth to this comment. I was at the last training class and about 75% of the class had no prior pharma.

WOW! Unbelievable! Forest managers have finally succeeded in establishing a reputation that is driving all the potential talent away from having any interest in working at Forest. I figured it would take another year or so but they accomplished this milestone in just a few years. WAY TO GO GUYS!

Can any of you brilliant DM's or RD's out there enlighten us one more time on how PDP's, low FTE scores and probation letters will force us to success and increase our chances of getting a green jacket?

Please hurry; I just can't wait to read your responses!

so if I'm a mental fuckup failing my way out of big pharma, Forest should be my last stop before I try to apply for contract sales?

Yes and No. Pharma drop at times do become so desperate that Forest is a fit, but generally this is a entry level shit hole for reps who have to choose between contract and Forest. They are interchangeable in many aspects, except that contract reps make more in base salary and but up with less micro and bullshit. In all truth, the manger caliber at contract org. is much more professional than forest and cso's have a rep for hiring the misfits from pharma and the wash outs. So its a coin toss....its like red roof in vs. motel 6, which one has dirtier rooms? Forest or Inventiv? Both hire douche bags both are minor leagues, I would go with the CSO, less bullshit reports and managers watching daily signatures and letters of concern tactics.

I'm not so sure I'd trash talk the contract co. anymore. Alot of big pharma like Merck and others are using them regularly due to costs and layoffs. There's more good people with the contracts then ever before.

Base in the high 40's low 50's REALLY? What about the specialty reps? Can anyone who is a specialty rep answer? If you were with Forest last year, what was your annual bonus for 2010? I want to hear from everyone.

Worked in pharma for over 10 years now, I use to make $110 base and now I am at $55, go figure? This company is a joke, i'm earning half and working twice as hard. Fuxked up :-(

Waaah, waaaah! I'll call a "waaahmbulance" for you. I don't like it here either, but I am making BANK. Everyone here agreed to their salary. If you do a decent job you could have a six figure base too, YES I am a rep with a six figure base. Even if you're new, 55k base and 25k bonus plus benefits, car, etc for decent results. The problems at Forest aren't because of money. If you think you can make more, go for it. There is plenty of bs here, but the pay is fair.

I somewhat agree with this poster - the pay is close to fair (still a bit low) .... the management, however, are fucking idiots!

Anyone who has worked at Forest and moved on can tell you its like night and day. Forest training teaches you how to role play basicly, no one has experiance here, if you got laid off from a job and Forest is your option, you should think twice. You will get a 55K starting base and at plan the bonus are $4900 quarter. You're lucky if you break 80k here starting. My best year at Forest I made 139k, its a great company to start at, 2 years and get out max

I agree that the pay is somewhat fair. Perhaps it is on the low end for the industry, but it's decent and the benefits are excellent. The base is probably in the low $50's now, and bonuses average $4-6k a quarter. Even in a bad quarter I've made $3k in bonuses, and in a good quarter I've made over $12k. But beware. The pay is, in my opinion, decent. But the treatment, managment, and other bs is not. It may not be worth the money, I know for me it's not anymore.

You and me both. I was used to old days after 25 years. Had a 6 figure income for over 10 years and now back to 60 base. I also work twice as hard and am being micromanaged to the point of misery. I am so sick of all this that thought of going to nursing school. At least when they clock out they don't have to work all night too like we do.

I am a specialty rep and have been for 4 years. The thing you do not get is that forest really does not have "specialty reps", everyone is primary care more or less. The DM's here barely scratch 80k in a base and the low 50's for reps in the norm. At forest a specialty job is not a promotion it is a lateral move.

I work maybe 2 days a week and before forest worked for a real pharma and made low 90's in base, we were laid off with no notice, no severance and I had to make a decision to get on payroll at whomever offered first. Forest did not do a background check and they offer everyone low ball very non competitive money and everyone is replaceable in a blink of the eye. I know my DM very well and we have an agreement, I work my second job and run my business on the side, and we both keep our mouths shut and stay off the radar. The DM's at forest are much more crooked then the reps, nobody makes any money but the people who are "protected" all have second jobs so the money is not the issue and the free car and gas is why I stay as this is all used for my real job, not forest. I can go grab 12 sig's in 2 hours and have not answered my phone from a pod mate in over 8 months. I am off limits to my pod mates, they are trouble and keep your distance from them, you will be backstabbed.

Take the job only if you have a second income and a good DM who looks the other way to enable you to work both under the table and you agree to protect them from their days golfing and shopping and false field reports.. Its very simple, if you do not have this sitch, dont bother coming here, it can be pure misery........and the masses are not to be trusted. U have been warned.

Is this for real? That kind of base pay is like a 40K -50k cut in base pay for some experienced reps. Will Forest not adjust to experience levels to hold on to some experienced reps?? I find this hard to believe...
