It's not so much whats your LDL rather what's your HDL/LDL ratio and what is your VLDL. I'll give you an example...my Total cholesterol was 279, at this point my nurse was freaking out and as like "I'm putting u on a statin today!". My doctor came in and said my LDL was 169 and was too high and he went over med options. I asked what my HDl was and he said 95 and my Trig were 75. I just laughed and got up and walked out. My Gdamn ratio is 2.9...under 3.5 is really good. Too many GPs just look at LDL and freak out if they are over 100. Stupid and borederline negligent.
There have been 2 huge meta analysis done on cholesterol and death rate over age 70. Those who had higher cholesterol lived much longer. Why? Because cholesterol is needed for every cell in your body to live.
