The problem with all the large national labs is that you never get paid the amount you should as they only reward you for current growth and even then the amount is VERY small compared to the profit a new client generates. If you think about it you should be earning a commission on every single client you brought to the lab from your first day assuming you worked as an SME.
So I was trying to think of what things I would like to see in a lab that were actually possible.
1. I would want to be paid a commission on every client I brought from day one and I would want the percentage to never change.
2. I would want a lab that would be licensed in all 50 states which means having a lab in New York.
3. I would want a lab that can do everything from Toxicology to PGx to Blood to Allergy to Hereditary Cancer Assessment to Pathology and all under one roof.
4. I would want a lab that is In-Network with all the major national insurance carriers and yet can also bill Out-Of-Network if that's what the physician preferred.
5. I would want a lab to be strictly compliant to all laws and regulations so I would never be embarrassed by criminal activity.
6. I would want a lab that has experience interfacing with the various EHR software.
7. I would want a lab that has excellent customer service such as having a toxicologist on call 24/7/365.
8. I would want a lab that has a physician portal and can provide the reports in virtually any way from secure email to fax that a provider would want.
9. I would want a lab to have offer excellent TAT.
10. I would want a lab to train me on the new services and testing that they added.
11. I would want a lab that had multiple locations in the US.
12. I would want a portal for me to see my own sales activity and track my expected income.
13. I would want a lab that could provide collectors where it weas legal and made business sense and/or put in a PSC.
14. I would want a lab to be able to offer mobile phlebotomy services.
15. I would want to be paid the correct amount and on time.
16. I would want a lab to NEVER EVER send a single patient to collections over their co-pay or deductible.
The simple fact is that there are excellent sales reps whether it is SME's, KAE's or other specialty positions and not a single one of you is making ANYTHING and I mean ANTHING like the amount you would be earning. You are being grossly underpaid!!!
If you were working as a 1099 with our lab you would not believe the amount you could be earning even if it was just getting a single client or two.
Both Quest & LabCorp have negotiated such super low rates just in order to be In-Network that they never pay their reps more than a drop in the bucket for the profits you generate. This also explains why they try and squeeze every last penny out of patients. LabCorp has a pay structure where you only get rewarded on what you did recently and never rewards you for all the millions of profits you have helped them generate. It’s a freaking disgrace.
If you have any interest in being your own boss one day, are looking to change your financial future and retiring early, are tired of the never ending pressure to constantly add more and more sales, are tired of the time filling out needless reports, are interested in making more money than any rep has ever earned at LCA then simply email us so I can share some details. You have nothing to lose. We have additional medical products and services you can promote to earn even more money. Most reps are not the risk takers they pretend to be and get too attached to the golden handcuffs to branch out on their own until they are pushed but I can assure you that you will never get rich working for the man and that means LabCorp. It may only take one or two accounts to be earning $30,000 plus per month given all the services we can provide because that wish list up above are the things we are providing now to every rep.
We have reps working on the side for us and in fact many reps started out that way testing the waters to make certain everything was as promised before they took the plunge. Naturally everything is confidential, some even start working and make their spouse the rep on the payroll. You can go to our website at www.SupremeMedSolutions.com
