I no longer work for NVS, but last year after I got married, my male manager at NVS asked me how to spell my new last name. I replied that I was keeping my maiden name. His response was, "Oh, you're one of those." He said it in front of an entire district. It wasn't really a "slur" but I remember thinking at the time that he really didn't have to say that. And the fact that I thought he was, and is, totally stupid.
