"Active Help" from Merck??
Laid off last year, got this msg. to call them a few days ago - anyone know what this is about??

COBRA?? UI Benefits?? Offering a job as a contract rep??

Would love to be armed with some info before I call.

It has to be that active lifestyle program. I laughed when Dick Clark said he signed up with it a few years back and encouraged us to do the same. Has he trimmed down since then? Outside vendors sometimes got old lists from Merck and have no idea you have been displaced or retired.

A total violation of HIPPA
 






Thank you all!! It was "Active Health" - and previous poster you are also right - a total violation of HIPPA!

I did not go any further through the voice mail tree than to hear what they were supposedly offering me regarding my unidentified (at that point) "health" issues.

So thank you all again.

I was a little paranoid because I had to apply for UI again and had not made enough with my recently ended job, which was temporary, to collect from them. I was able to refile again against SP/MER. I was concerned that they would deny it. So, I have a little cushion until I land the next gig - hopefully full time and permanent - its not easy out here folks, but won't go back to pharma under any conditions.
Don't miss the stress at all.....and I have my self respect back again!
 






Don't be too paranoid. I am not with Merck anymore. They call to offer you an array of really good stuff which you can choose from if you want to. I think they only calling those who did not sign up online when it was launched. Just ignore the calls.
