What is your job search strategy?

So for those of us who still have not found a job (and those who have) what's been your job search strategy? Any ideas from which we could all benefit? Including, but not limited to:

What recruiters have you found to be helpful?

What companies are hiring?

How have you used Linked in and how helpful has it been?

What job boards are you searching?

Any other ideas would be helpful. Please be serious. Nobody here is in the mood for smart aleck responses. Thanks

This isn't meant to be a smart aleck response, but we now have hundreds of reps interviewing (both OSS reps and HSS that still are presently at Mallinckrodt). In case you haven't realized, everyone that stills works here is looking. So no one is going to share too much.

Do the managers you contact that way seem to appreciate it or does it piss them off? How exactly do you reach out to them? I am new on linked in

i saw a job posting on a company website, applied for it. In the mean-time I sought out a local rep on Linked-in. Reached out and asked how he liked working for the company? How were the products? did he know who the hiring mgr was? etc. He responded and forwarded my resume on to the hiring manager. I start next week, he gets a referral bonus. I truly feel that without me reaching out I never would've gotten the opportunity.

Do not worry about having to explain lack of performance or why you are leaving Mallinckrodt. I have found them to already know about lack of direction and leadership along with poor treatment of everyone and no ethics or care for the patients and the over priced products and lack of company cars and lack of bonus and no coverage and getting kicked off formulary and no promotion from within and lack of diversity and lack of long term incentive and lack of new products and lack of research and the great stock price that keeps growing despite not one product meeting its goals and most of all lack of a future. They all ask how I stayed as long as I did and how I could show my face in the hospitals. They really question me about my ethics and how I handled it. Just be ready for that question and have a positive response.

Enterprise, AT&T sales, Courtyard by Marriot (front desk loser) would be great places for you to start. You should aim high, each has paid vacation and good for your skill set.

Actually those would be a step up from selling liquid apap. PO is just fine, I always thought telling us that they would never do a study because they are not sure of what the results would be was interesting. You know the results when you work at the front desk of a hotel, great service and happy customers. I am not sure if I would get hired. They look for ethics and it is tough to overcome the damage to my reputation that Mallinckrodt did. Daily I ask myself, how can I work for a company that only cares about stock evaluation and not the patients or the employees. I need the money so I stay. I'm the dumb one for sure. I always teach my children to do the right thing and I work for a company that can not even practice that, but I do nothing about it.

You are completely off base and your comments are so unprofessional and ridiculous. Yes, this company is shit. Yes, we are all looking for other jobs. But at no point did they openly say they haven't done a head to head because they were not sure of the results. I can speak firsthand that OFIRMEV is a wonder drug and there is absolutely no comparison to PO. Not even a REMOTE comparison. The company sucks but the drug is great. You are talking about your damaged reputation, yet you stay here? "I need the money so I stay". You never once mentioned you were looking for another job. Integrity? What are you teaching your own kids and you daily question yourself. Then get a new job! You clearly don't believe in the product and its efficacy, so you don't belong here anyway. There is no question the environment here is toxic and everyone should be looking for better opportunities. But when you question the drug, you have no business being here. I will stand behind this drug anytime, but not the company.

Good point about standing behind the drug.

The company should stand behind the drug I agree and do a study vs rectal apap. Ha ha. Get it behind. They never will and I was at a meeting when a higher up said they would never do a study because they are afraid of outcome. We were all shocked when he said that. They have to much at risk and it would not lead to share holder wealth.
