That was the package LAST YEAR. Nothing to say that it will be the package this time. It could be better and then again I could get to sleep with a super model like Christy Brinkley. Chances are it will be the same but it could be worse. They COULD hand you a chicklet and give you a kick in the ass out the door. You're right though, they stipulate that you can never come back to work for Novartis. No idea why that is.

It's to reduce liability and exposure to lawsuits. If one person is hired back and not another it makes it look like collusion.
 






upper management is brainstorming ways around a severance package in order to meet bottom line 2012 goals set by suisse. they are labeling the total collapse of cv franchise as catastrophic and floating the idea of paying accrued vacation time and med benefits for 2012 only. for example, employees with 3 weeks vacation would receive 3 weeks pay plus med bens. not quite the package of december 2010.

Well said. I'm tired of the vindictiveness and backstabbing.
 






The poster quoting the two weeks for every year etc was right on. I lost my job in July. They will allow you to post for available jobs until your termination date ( sixty-days ). After the sixty days you sign the non-compete and release or you don't collect a penny. They pay for the reeducation ( not worth $2500. ) and one year of COBRA. He was right when you sign, you can never work for any Novartis company again. Make you sure you know how much commission that you are entitled to, they will prorate it. They may pay for unused vacation too. They tend to take care of managers, meaning if there are openings, they'll get them first, especially if they are close to retirement age and can't walk away from the benefits. Tenure means nothing, in fact high pensioners are among the first to go ( although when they show you the distribution they try to spread it out ). Car and computer are picked up quickly. A "1" your performance review is another ticket good bye.

I am laughing at this jerk statement above. Yes! many people on this board know quite a bit. Some people on this board, thank you very much, share useful information to inform each other about what is going on and how we are being affected.

You must be someone from corporate or worse a corporate lackey in the field who wants to discourage communication so the employees can stay in the dark making it easier for corporate to take advantage of employees. You can't stop free speech and thank goodness for this communication resource to allow company dirty laundry that hurts employees to be aired for all to see.

So to answer your statement again, - Many people on this board know quite a bit and you cannot control it. AND wouldn't you love to.

Not to mention, since many people who work for Pharma are smart with fun personalities, many of the comments about corporate lies,words, phrases, ridiculous sales directives etc. are extremely!!! funny. Laugh out loud funny. We all need a good laugh especially now.

So ignore corporate hacks who would love to shut down your thoughts. We are not robots. We know 10 times out of 10 everything corporate does is a manipulation for the masses. Management consultants you too!! we know!!! your not fooling anyone with your recycled initiatives and "group speak" re-naming of terms. We are not stupid we know better than to share ideas and insights that conflict with the "newest corporate flavor tag line". We are smart enough to "yes" you to death since we know that's all you want to hear.
