A former colleague, who I haven't spoken to in awhile, calls me yesterday to inquire about a job posting in southern CA. She called me because she knows I worked for a division of Valeant and left the company a few months ago. She said that the job posting was for an occular position and said that, "It says Valeant". I informed her that the position was for Bausch & Lomb, that B&L is Valeant's occular division. Told her to avoid applying for the job. I told her that the company is really messed up, that things are very uncertain, that there has been a mass exodus of reps in all divisions of Valeant, and that she should avoid working for any division of Valeant. Suggested that if she sees postings for Valeant Derm, occular, or GI (Salix) she should definitely not apply.

I call bullshit on this post. You can't even spell ocular correctly. You worked in eye care? Holy shit. I bet B&L was glad to get rid of you. WOW! And plus, you did it twice in the above post. That's how I know you're stupid!

i have heard that in North and South Carolina there is only 1 surgical rep left. They all went to Sun and Shire. And lots of Pharma reps left a year ago for shire and of course I bunch more recently bailed. Sad situation, but it looks like it is happening everywhere.
 












Some of the most well respected surgical reps have left over the last few weeks and management has done nothing to save anybody. There will be more resignations this week and next. It is a shame that management can't get their hands around this - they are just puppets that can't make decisions without Pearsons or Ackmans approval. BTW - really quiet right now... Something will be announced soon.

Surgical management beyond incompetent. Surgical VP complete narcissist, his direct reports clueless and his manager has his head in the sand. Not a good formula for success.
 






Well said! At some point the GM has to hold someone accountable..... There have been 33 resignations in Surgical Sales. One might think the managers should look in the mirror..... I know most of the reps feel like they are not appreciated and the retention plan they developed is a total joke!!!
 






GM unable to hold anyone accountable because he is naive and counting on the guidance of misinformed, over employed lifers. He does not realize that his inner circle is his biggest problem. MANY more resignations to come.
 






Count all the departures in Vision Care. No worries though. Just keep promoting sales associates. Doctors love to have a youngster come in and waste their time. Works every time. Incompetent egos at the top. Hard to be #4. Nowhere to go but down.

How many PHARMA reps have left from Carolina from Teams 1 & 2 since the NSM when the mass exodus began? Zero, right? Every other district losing between 50%-80% and he has 0% turnover? That manager must be doing something right.
