What is Tepezza team like?

it will soon be Amgen as well...fakery....heavy use of emojis...repeatedly thank management for conducting web calls when we do lunches....focus on calibration....prime directive it to make the execution report look good...our god is the KPI dashboard.....

uninterested in the opinion of some whining pussy who refuses to to better their situation and doesn’t know how to properly use an ellipsis

That’s not what I asked. I asked what is it like now
It's literally the best job I've ever had. Come on over and see. NOTHING like the rest of Amgen. Of course that's getting ready to change as the person above says but like you said you want to know what it's like NOW. So there you go. It's currently Heaven.

It was once heaven at Celgene as well...we had an incredible IC plan that didn't reset the baseline every quarter. We had lucrative kickers. We got $75k a year in equity awards. We had ZERO teleconferences a week. Let that sink in! We had a 2 day meeting once a year and it was a blast. We had DMs that came out and helped us move the freight, not spend all morning working on my ACT slides. We had a RSD that knew customers. We had RBMs that solved credit and alignment issues promptly. We had and ED that busted her ass at multiple meetings a year with the top KOLs in the country. We had a culture where everyone wanted to win, but more importantly went out and did what was needed to win.

All that is gone. Every single shred of it.

It used to be great, not so much anymore. Slowly the Amgen people are creeping in. They had a layoff a while ago, during an expansion (that was great for morale) people are leaving or being fired and replaced with Amgen loyalists. The culture sucks, as everyone is walking on eggshells and the new upper mgmt is running this team as if we were primary care with the metrics, program pushing, and fear. They recently did an Endo expansion that is completely useless and a waste of money as they are not effective or efficient.
I feel people are just buying time until new drugs come out. Amgen has ruined this division.

I'm not going to get into name calling and all that but the Amgen playbook is to install a reach and frequency, primary care model for all divisions. Period.

You better get used to calling on who ZS says, with a frequency that ZS says and with the message ZS says resonates.

Nothing wrong with this. Is actually easier. Just show up a few times and fake the rest of the calls.

The problem is that Amgen doesn't pay well. I know reps on the Tepezza team that used to make 300k a year in bonuses. Now its a 250k a year total job. Not bad, but not what we are used to.

Celgene was not that lucrative, but we got $75k a year in equity awards vs. $3k here and I never made less than $125k a year in bonus vs $40k here.

Fact is Amgen doesn't pay well. They look down on reps and don't see any value in us. They say we can be replaced with anyone, so long as they have 15 years of big Pharma experience so they know how to play the activity game.

Sounds pretty lucrative to me.

I'm looking for another "celgene" or "horizon" that pays big with considerable pressure to perform.

You have to have the right leadership. Leadership that values performance, not just produces shiny posters lauding it. Leadership that hires competitive people, provides them with tools and does everything it can to stay out of the way. That is rare. It's some much easier to try to control it. We are lead by control culture. Measurement culture. Take any business unit and the leader considers themselves a numbers person. They don't care about the art. They only care about what can be measured. We ended up with "leaders" who let former ZS analyst drive commercial marketing strategy.

Look elsewhere

Yes! This is what Tad and Jasper want for the TEP team. They are big on metrics and next year is going to be metric driven, check the box.

I can assure you that next year will be metrics driven. Number of calls. Calls on targets as prescribed by ZS. No patience for variance with over calling on targets. Number or programs. Number of emails. Number of opened and resolved rep alerts. Time to open alert. Things you can't even imagine. Amgen knows no other way. There is zero sales culture. There is only the culture of measurement for measurements sake. Buckle up.

you are obv not in rare disease. Emails, rep alerts? No
