What is Managed Care Role?

I have been here for over 10 years and I do not understand what it is that the managed care team does other than burn valuable salaries and benefits? Please tell me if I am wrong.
The whole field and corporate team seems like a huge waste of resources.
 






It sounds like either you have a bad RAM (there are still a few out there) or you need to try a different profession if you don't understand the importance of contracting with PBMs and health plans after 10 years on the job! Any account team that can get 80+% unrestricted access for the 27th brand beta blocker is pretty damn good in my book. With our stable of me-too brands in highly generic categories it's a miracle they can avoid multiple steps and PAs on any of it.
 






It looks like the OPs real problem is they can't sell for shit. Amazing they've been able to hang on for 10 years. Probably lots of realignment DM changes have allowed them to barely tread water!
 






Above poster. Sell??? We don't sell buddy, we are ups, catering, employees who are not respected. Before you rip me I'm consistently in the top 50%, I'm just being honest, this is our job. It's ALL about coverage end of story.
 












Rams are lucky m'fers who act like they bust their butts but do the minimum and hope for the best while collecting double rep pay. They have minimal incentive to get our products added to preferred status. Even if they do,they get paid on market share for their accounts so it all comes down to the reps. Doug Powell is the only RAM I know who busts their butt. What is needed here is CLARITY and TRANSPARENCY. Email all the reps, managers, and executives your weekly schedule, PLEASE!
 






Some RAM's are ok. But there are others who are placed in this position just to get them out of the field and away from being a bully to reps!! Ask the one in NC just how qualified he is!!

You have to be talking about Steve Patterson. What a joke!!! He won't know what to do if he has no one to harrass!
