I started to pay attention to the price of Acthar (adrenocorticotropic hormone, Armour Pharm. Co.) when I worked for them in 1978. It cost just a few dollars per vial; in fact, my manager used it as a "work indicator". If you didn't have several turnover orders (orders taken in office and then turned over to drug wholesalers) for Acthar every week, you weren't working. Most PC offices stocked at least one vial. I don't know how or when the price increased several thousand fold, but someone is making a killing. I doubt any PC office stocks it now!!
