What do I tell my grandkids starting their career?

This sound correct.
The NPC sales rep. has taken over the industry. No heart. No soul. Detail aid, talking billboards. No thinking required. Tell your grandkids that you were not smart enough to find something real. Be honest with them.
What have you learned from anyone in this industry anyway?
Doctors=Morons, as well.

I feel like being honest with your grandkids that sales is a great way to make money when you are young, pharma included, but when you get older, it is important to find what makes you happy vs always pleasing others. You can definitely lose yourself in this job and become a robot to whatever the company or customer wants, but if you keep your head down and bank as much money as possible, early, it can be a good 10 or so year gig. After that, it can become more difficult to leave once you have the free car, pharma benefits, and pretty high pay check. Get in, but get out before it is too late- that is what I would tell my grandkids.

Tell them the heyday is over. But for most of your career you made more money, spent more time with your family and retired earlier then the customers you called on.

Hope they find something that afford them stay in the best hotels , eat at the best restaurants and be sent on trips to the most luxurious locations on the companies dime.

Retired 4 years ago at 59 and been loving it since.
