What do I do with an old 401K?

I used to work for Pfizer and then for Roche / Genetech, I transitioned into financial services and would like to help anybody that may have questions about what to do with an old 401 k from past employers or if you are thinking of leaving Genentech. Parasite? Spam? Are you folks serious, you have been in the cookie cutter of big pharma too, long, I broke out, and now I find ways to build my business while helping others, why is it so bad to offer to discuss options with somebody about there finances? Most Amnericans have no clue about what options are available to them, so they don't do the proper things for them and their families financially and end up "having" to stay in a job they may not like for a lot longer than they would like to, and/ or end up having to depend on social security which may or may not be there. So take your cafe pharma one liner hatred elsewhere, there may actually be people that want some help. Gary

Hey Gary, ignore these boobs!!! I say "good on you" for having the hutzpah to reach out for yourself. Many don't have the balls. After 30 years and recently laid-off I see from my old peers that many have not read to get an understanding of the financial side of the issue of which you speak. There are 3 of them who are relying on me and my financial background to sort thru the stuff. If they didn't have me they would have need of your services. Everyone in my situation is of need of the information of which you are talking about but don't want to take the time to delve into it. Good luck in your quest and as with most things in life don't let the naysayers detur you.

Hey thanks for the backing from the 30 year guy I appreciate it, and as to the hijacking a thread comment? I started this thread, and the others that I posted on were related to severance issues, is it really that bothersome for you too see an offer of help? How about what we (when I was with Roche) have been doing to the rest of the country forcing Sally Field on them? What I don't get is that you are alledgedly a sales professional who's sole purpose is to maintain and grow your exisitng business and to create new business in unexplored areas, by helping your potential clients or customers fulfill their needs, sometimes when they don't even realize they have the need, yet when the same function is performed in front of you it offends you? Wow, now maybe you know just a little how the doctors feel, except what I am offering for people to reach out to me if they have questions unlike barging into their work space while their patients and customers are around and they just want to get through their day. I don't even know why I bother responding to naysayers, I've had two folks who called and appreciated my advice. Best of luck to you though.
