I want to be successful in my job but it seems our PI is constricting me. Any thoughts on this?

You are an idiot. The PI is your guide book, if you veer from it, you are non-compliant and can risk patient lives (and your job in the process). If you want to be successful, you have to accept the fact that you have to play the game within the rule book, the package insert. If your success means more than the lives of patients, then you shouldn't be a Pharma rep in the first place. If a doctor choses to prescribe off label, that is up to him/her. If you steer them in that direction, your ego could put someone's mother, father, or perhaps a child at significant risk, or even fatal risk. You should feel ashamed of yourself.
