You are correct about the past: When I launched Lipitor, (1996), no managed care to speak of and Medicare-D came out in 2006.
So, your customers are still people, and they do write "Lipid" meds, so always keep that in mind. Plus they like talking to "friendly" reps, who know their drug and the competitors drugs inside and out. The doctors who use your product is the ones that will use more. Make sure you do all you can for them. Then the ones who see many diabetics, they are great prospects.
Plus like I have said in past, doctor...Where have you seen better outcomes when "Vascepa" was added to a statin? It should be first choice for most of your patients. Plus it was a 5 year study, most doctors always say: Show me the DATA...you have it now doc, and if you have pts. who cannot get it, let me know so I can help.
FYI: I had a doc many years ago, so I use a statin every other day due to side effects, I would say: Show me the data that says this works....Go for it. Good Luck!
