I was once employed by this horrible company. I was one of the fortunate ones laid off during the Hawthorn buyout. Hawthorn/Pernix really know how to make you feel like a sack of shit, a recorded phone call to fire you and no severance pay. The pay sucks, you destroy your car, they hardly reimburse you for mileage.... But I know I accepted these terms when I worked for them. What I didnt know is that it can be so much better with another company. My pay almost tripled, brand new company car, gas card, cell/ internet reimbursed and a company that believes in the quality of calls, not the quantity of calls. Im not writing this to brag, Im writing this to let you know that YOU deserve better! Seriously, get your resume together and start applying for jobs. Find something new and you will realize how badly this company treats you. You didn't go to college to be treated like this! Good luck.
 












I had a nightmare I still worked for Hawthorn. I then woke up in the hospital from my car accident with a broken left arm and leg, cracked hip and internal bleeding. I was so happy when I awoke and realized I didnt work for them anymore and it was just a bad bad dream.

this is true! There are companies that will treat you better: pay and benefits. I just started looking, and I will tell you that what other companies offer is way better than staying here. I don't even care if I get caught interviewing and get fired. It will be better than staying in this sh!thole
 






Thank God I was one of the lucky ones who got out before the 30%...oops I mean 50% lay offs. Hawthorn never cared ab the employees and Pernix just loved the fact that they could pay people dog shit and capitalize on the relationships the reps HAD in order to sell their over priced drugs. Keep running around telling Dr's that we had GREAT coverage on Medco....as if anyone gave a shit. "Doc, you know we're preferred on Medco........Oooooh Medco!?!?! Really!?!?! You guys are preferred on MEDCO, OMG THAT'S AMAZING!!!!!!"

This is by far the worst company in the Pharmaceutical industry and I recommend that everyone stay away. You will be forced to work twice as hard, destroy YOUR OWN VEHICLE and get paid half as much as any other rep in the business.

sooo true... I have to lie in interviews about the mileage just so I can be taken seriously and don't get laughed at
 






Yeah, wow. I honestly couldn't agree more. I really liked being told that I wasn't working when I knew that I was(obsession w sig requirements), I really liked being told that I wasn't worth what they were paying me(y'all want another carrot??). Hawthorn was bad, Pernix is awful. I am glad that I left, never thought I would regret it. I still have friends that work there and can only encourage those with some experience to get out quick.


Hawthorn was that girl you could call over at midnight.. Easy, cheap, kinda fun.

Pernix is the girl you call over at midnight, except she gives you herpes and steals your wallet.
